Hearing the word Rootsense or saying it almost feels like second nature today. But this was not the case back in 2020.
As you may already know from Part 1 of this blog, the three of us were very different personalities with different perspectives. Then, in the summer of 2020, right after the annual summer break, something shifted. What I sometimes call destiny played its part. The three of us started distancing ourselves from the groups we had been part of until then. Our energies no longer matched theirs. As a result, we began spending more and more time together.

Over endless discussions, debates, disagreements, and everything in between, we realised something important. Even though we were three very different people from different walks of life, one thing united our thoughts: we all wanted to define our own paths.
None of us felt excited by the idea of working in a corporate setup. This is not to say that corporate life is dull, but coming from where we came from, and understanding ourselves better as we entered our 20s, we wanted to start something of our own. We wanted to create something meaningful and become independent entities.
Even today, when I look back, I still find it hard to see how the three of us could have come together. Yet, in the natural flow of things, we started doing more college projects together presentations, late-night sessions, competitions, and more.
Then one day, Yashvi received a freelance project from someone she knew. As a natural instinct, the three of us worked on it together. That one project turned into two in the same semester, and then more kept coming. With every project, we understood each other better, our strengths, our weaknesses, our passions, and our interests. Slowly, without even realising it, our lives started getting interwoven.

And then, one day, it happened. We finally decided that whatever the three of us were building together needed a name. This relationship needed an identity. Over the next few weeks, after many discussions, we arrived at the name Rootsense.
This was the beginning of Rootsense.
Do you find this story relatable? In the next part, I’ll share how we finally chose the name “Rootsense” and what it actually means to us.
